Spare Ribs in Yellow Bean Sauce
Mum's House
Cut large ribs into 2 or 3 pieces using a cleaver. Alternatively, look out for shorter ribs, sold in many supermarkets.
|
Ingridents:
* 900g Pork spareribs
* 1 jar (185ml) Yellow Bean Sauce
* 2 tsp minced garlic paste (or use fresh)
* 2 tsp minced ginger (or use fresh)
* 2 Tbsp peanut or vegetable oil
Steps:
1. Place pork ribs in a pan of water and bring to the boil. Cook uncovered for approximately 10 minutes and drain.
2. Heat oil in a large wok and fry minced garlic and ginger. Do not allow to burn.
3. Add spare ribs and mix in the Yellow Bean Sauce.
4. Fill sauce jar with equal amount of water and add this to the wok. Cover and braise ribs slowly. At this stage you may place in a oven proof casserole dish and cook ribs in the oven.
5. If you choose to cook in the wok, keep adding water and cook slowly for approximately 40 minutes or until ribs are tender.
6. Serve as a starter or with other dishes as a main meal.
